Surrounded by a park of more than three hectares, completely fenced in, Casale Conte Jacopo has gone through various phases of development over the centuries, which have profoundly altered its appearance.
In the 17th century, the central core was built, probably for rural use. Evidence of this is an inscription from 1631 found during renovation work. Towards the end of the 19th century, the building became a tobacco drying kiln, in the wake of the spread of tobacco cultivation in Umbria. In the mid-20th century, the building was extended and converted into a private residence.
Today, the villa, which has an area of about 500 square metres, has been renovated in its entirety. The work has revealed architectural pieces from different eras. From an ancient buttress to original terracotta tiles, from oak lintels to small niches in the oldest wing of the villa.
The imposing stone structure stands on a hill overlooking the wide valley of the Caina stream. A vast park full of trees and flowers surrounds the building. Rows of cypresses border a shady pine forest. An olive grove descends into the valley and crosses a dense oak forest. Lime trees, laurels and roses perfume the air. The refined ambience, the beauty of the park and the ancient charm of the residence make Casale Conte Jacopo an exclusive place.
